I have just installed the Ad plugin. Unfortunately, when i tried creating an ad for one of my clients, it doesn’t show up on the blog page as well as on the ad panel. I have already uploaded the image on our server but it still doesn’t show up. Any idea where I went wrong? ‘m no techie so I’m not really sure how to go about this.
]]>The only thing I could think of that could be an issue here is the location of the images, but I don’t think it is an issue in your case.
Come to think about it, I have seen the same thing happen on a totally unrelated page: a simple static page with nothing on it but one ‘coming soon’ image. I’ve uploaded a new image and all of a sudden it won’t show in firefox. Reloading the page with Ctrl + F5 shows it just fine, open it again and it doesn’t show the image. Looks like this is a firefox bug, might also be a caching issue on your pc or at your ISP. Try clearing your cache in firefox and see if that fixes anything.
]]>I’m not sure exactly what is happening but I did check the source code of the page and the images are in the code, both on the admin pages for the Ad-Button maintenance screen and on the website pages. In fact, I can cut the code, paste into an HTML editor, click the preview and it shows the images.
So I checked the pages in IE8 and Chrome! WOW! It shows the images in those browser but in FireFox 3.0, some are not displayed. The strange thing is I can copy the url for the images that are NOT displayed, put in another FireFox browser tab and it displays the images.
Anyone have any suggestions?
]]>Cudos to the changes with the fixed 125×125 buttons, the fixed sidebar width and the changes for Adsense.
I don’t know exactly what happened on your last update but now I cannot get it to recognize and display some ad button images. I’ve resaved the images as JPG, PNG, TIF and GIF, re-edited the Ad-Button record and save but no luck. I’ve even tried to add the same button again but it still does not show the image. I’ve checked the URL of the images and they do display in another browser.
Here is a URL for a screenshot of what the Ad-Buttons edit screen looks like:

Any suggestions?
]]>Many thanks for the reply and also for the updated download. It’s all working brilliantly now!
Fantastic plugin, so thanks again for developing it.
Showing ads in your content is not supported (yet) the plugin is purely a sidebar widget at the moment. I know there is a plugin that lets you create custom content tags which could be used to add a tag that contains ad_buttons(); it would however use the global variable of the number of ads to display, so on your site it would show another block of 6 ads. I’ve added your request to my list of things for future releases though, so I will definitely look into it.
